The birth of SpiderMan

When he lets some thieves get away, they end up killing his uncle, setting the stage for the guilt that will drive SpiderMan through the rest of his career.

SpiderMan: the comic books

SpiderMan was written to be a one-time affair. His appearance in Amazing Fantasy, however, resurrected sagging sale, in fact, SpiderMan proved to be one of Marvel’s most profitable superheroes. Far from being a one-time affair, Spider-Man can now be found in an endless array of comic books series, from The Amazing Spider-Man, to Spectacular SpiderMan, Sensational SpiderMan, and even Ultimate SpiderMan (not to be confused, of course, with Spide-Man Unlimited).

SpiderMan: the franchise

SpiderMan is more than just comic books. His popularity has led Marvel to create a media franchise for Spider-Man, with his story appearing in television cartoons, video games, and even movies. The recent feature films to focus on SpiderMan star Tobey Maguire as SpiderMan and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. The first movie, released in 2002, focuses on the start of SpiderMan’s career, with a genetically modified spider taking the place of the original radioactive spider. With his newfound powers, Spider-Man finds himself face to face with the Green Goblin, played by Willem Dafoe. Propelled by the success of the first movie, SpiderMan returned in 2004 in SpiderMan 2 to face off against Doctor Octopus, a multi-tentacled experiment gone wrong. SpiderMan 3 is scheduled for release in 2007. This time he is set to face his biggest enemy yet, himself in his black venom alien suit.

Building your SpiderMan comic book collection

While SpiderMan has been very successful away from comic books, to truly enjoy him, to truly be a fan, you have to go back to the comic books. This can be difficult, however; finding all of SpiderMan’s comics would be a Herculean task. If you need to locate older copies of Spider-Man comics, be sure to look on popular online auction sites. Yoshi’s Island for Super Nintendo was a revolutionary Yoshi game that has been remade dozens of times by Nintendo. The controls of this game are very easy if you are trying to learn. You must engulf enemies with Yoshi’s tongue and turn them into eggs. With these eggs you can fire them in a wide range depending on the direction you are facing. Different enemies produce different eggs for Yoshi. The most common egg is green. There are also Watermelon power ups that give Yoshi different speed spitting abilities. These include regular seeds, fire seeds (red watermelon), and ice seeds (blue watermelon).

Yoshi’s jump is standard since previous installment but if you need extra air time when Yoshi is jumping you can float down by making Yoshi flap his arms. That is Since Yoshi can not fly without Helicopter ability. Yoshi will gain this random abilities during the game that will transform him. Watch out for these as it will make it easier to collect coins and other hidden secrets.

There are only two main jobs of Baby Mario in this game. First of all to get in the way and being obnoxious. If you get hit you have a certain amount of time before Mario gets kidnapped. You can get him back by touching the bubble that Baby Mario is in or by hitting him with you tongue, eggs, watermelon seeds, etc. The second job Baby Mario has in this game is to gain a Cape when Mario gains a star. This is a very cool Yoshi’s Island version of the star theme.

Each World has two stages to unlock. Now the feat is how do you unlock them. You can do that by beating every level in the World 100% of by using Game Genie for SNES. It will take you a few runs of each level to unlock this stages successfully but after you unlock them you’ll be wondering if it was worth it.

The Final Boss of this game once again is Bowser but Baby Bowser. He is trying to capture the Baby from Yoshi at all cost but Yoshi is the only one looking out for Mario’s best interest. Can Yoshi and Baby Mario save the day from this troubled baby King Koopa. Note that this was the first appearance of both Baby Mario and Baby Bowser in a Nintendo game.

This guide is for an adult purchasing video games online for a younger person. If you are not already a gamer, in your initial visit to any video game retailer online you would be overwhelmed – especially if you’re new to gaming. Teens and kids with gaming addictions know their way around as it is. For the adult, the online video game store is an animated explosion. Much like the action figure section of your local Toys R Us.

First you must do your research before shopping for games online. There’s plenty of information available about video games on the web, so to reduce frustration google ‘video game information’. Alternatively you can visit the website you plan to purchase video games from, and search for games according to what system your kid(s) have. Video games systems are usually denoted by abbreviations. Here’s a helpful chart to explain what all those abbreviations mean:

• Wii = Nintendo’s Wii System
• PS3 = Playstation 3 System
• XBOX 360 = Microsoft’s XBOX 360 System
• PC = Personal Computer
• PS2 = Playstation 2 System
• PSP = Playstation Portable System
• DS = Nintendo’s DS System

The key is to locate the system first. After locating the system it should be clear what games the store has available that work with that system. After locating the appropriate games section for the game system you are purchasing for, take a look at the rating indicated on the game’s cover (if the site offers a detailed enough picture) or in the information box. The majority of the time, illustrations on the covers and ads of the games you are purchasing do a wonderful job of exposing what the game is about. So if you see an illustration of a man holding a gun, chances are, there is gore and violence in that game–you might not want that for your child. I’d recommend making a selection based on the latest childrens and action/adventure movie releases. Kids love the new animated movies definitely enjoy re-living the best scenes from the movie, in the video game. If you can’t find a game that’s built from a movie that the child likes, try to find a game that centers around a popular animated or action program, or one that can be considered educational. If you still can’t find one, point your browser to the nearest Blockbuster or Hollywood Video website. Usually they have a list of the latest releases. Use that list to compile your own list of games you would purchase for your kid(s). Then go back to the website that you intended to buy from and enter the games on your list into their search bar. If, on the other hand, you did find a game, you can purchase it at the given website.
