Dominate World PvP with this Paladin Guide
PvP combat is in your Paladin’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King has brought more advanced, real time battles to the game.
The first real time PvP battle zone is Lake Wintergrasp. There players battle on the live server (no instancing) to win points that allow them to buy a wide variety of rare and valuable items, including the new Heirloom items that any character in their account regardless of that character’s level can take advantage of.
With Lake Wintergrasp’s high popularity, and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, you’ll surely see more even more PvP in WoW in the future. So let’s talk about Paladins and PvP:
Playing a Paladin class character in World of Warcraft PvP requires a little bit of schizophrenia. Paladins can fight like tanks, but at the same time have the magical power to heal themselves and others, at least while their mana lasts. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of this class is crucial if you want to dominate in player versus player combat.
A Paladin can play more than one role in the arena. When soloing, a Paladin’s ability to heal themselves makes them frustrating and dangerous opponents. With a full load of mana, Paladins can use their self-healing abilities to recover from almost any level of damage once or twice and essentially more than double their health bar. This makes it possible for them to absorb huge amounts of punishment and still remain standing. When playing as part of a group, Paladins often play more of a support role, fighting when necessary, while also providing bubbles, blessings, heals, and melee assistance wherever it is needed on the battlefield. This is a role that a skilled Palading will excel at, making them valuable assets for any party.
While playing a Paladin offers many benefits, the Paladin class has its downsides too. A Paladin’s mana supply is always limited, and once it is gone, so are many of this classes advantages. Regardless of the amount of mana they have available, Paladins can have a terrible time drawing close enough to Hunters and Mages to do any damage at all. Knowing how to best make use of their limited mana supply, and understanding how to battle each opposing class is key to PvP success for a Paladin class character. As with any class trying to master PvP combat, learning what you need to know by trial and error is bloody, frustrating, and time consuming.
Avoiding that long period where you die all the time is a great reason to invest in a Paladin PvP Guide. A quality guide will give you a blueprint for how your Paladin will fight each other class. And that’s not all it will include. A quality PvP Guide will let you learn just about everything you could ever care to know about achieving victory with your Paladin in each PvP environment, whether dueling one-on-one, or as part of a party, or in World PvP.
