Don’t Ignore The Games Controller When Deciding On Computer Games Systems
There can’t be many people who do not know the most popular computer video games consoles that have become such a normal part of our daily lives. We usually compare the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii on the basis of quality of graphics but we should also look at how they are operated using the games controllers provided in the budle you buy.
We may not think a lot about controllers but the manufacturers spend a lot of time on design and we usually just use them without thinking. The Xbox first appeared back in 2001 and the controller that came as part of the bundle supplied is now commonly known as the Duke Controller.
Microsoft was quick to discover that people found the controller was too large to use comfortably and it hurt people’s hands. In response they quickly released a different design which was more acceptable to the public and is more like the one now used in the Xbox 360.
The controller they supply now is the most comfortable and most convenient to use. Meanwhile the controller for the Playstation while it may look a little different is not as different as you might think.
There are not that many changes to the controller for the PS2 with a few internal modifications. The original PS3 controller was more revolutionary but the new control layout was soon abandoned.
Most people feel sure this was because the controller didn’t work as well as the time-tested PS2 one. There is little doubt they came right in the end but they need to be sure to get it just right when they release their next games platform.
There is nothing basically wrong with the current system but gamers are going to want more with the control systems in any new games console released. Businesses are struggling right now so it may be a while but we will be looking out for something special when it arrives.
The most game changing brand is currently the Wii games systems from Nintendo which changed the market. Something totally different was included with the wii bundle and the wiimote is very different and hard to compare to the other games system controllers.
The wiimote is more innovative and a completely original approach to the idea of how we could control the games we like to play. Bring out the motion sensing controller is more revolutionary than any other controller we have seen since the earliest days of computer games.
Technology sometimes puts cleverness over customer appreciation but here it is being used to add to your enjoyment and it has the potential to take gaming to a whole new level. The wii and the wii fit bundle proved there are more important features than just the graphics chips used in the Wii though they didn’t realise what a great change the controllers introduced.
Gamers everywhere will be looking forward to whatever the eighth generation of gaming controllers will be like. I would expect them to be very similar to the wiimote and give us a whole new era in gaming enjoyment.
